Explanation: In 2002 four Reformed pastors held a conference at Auburn Avenue Presbyterian Church. Much Controversy ensued. The RPCUS declared their teachings heresy. A conference was held in 2003 to clarify. Opponents were invited. The controversy continues.
Here are the questions we need to answer.
Are the views presented in error?
If in error, do they rise to the level of heresy?
If they don't rise to the level of heresy, is there enough space within the Reformed community for these views?
Along with number 3, did the earliest Magesterial Reformers hold teachings consistent with Auburn?
Have current Reformed views been unduly influenced by the Enlightenment?
I've included articles regarding views of the Magesterial Reformers in the pro column, because if the original Reformers back their view the debate can be ratcheted down a few notches. This doesn't mean the debate would be over, but most involved would admit heresy is not at issue. At worst, they may be Lutherans. :)
I've decided to include articles about Shepherd et al. These issues are interrelated and deserve their own articles.
